“…Investigators have concluded that samples positive for pyuria should be cultured to confirm a UTI. 12 , 13 Oikonomou and Alhaddad 14 reported that there was no association between pyuria and fever, sepsis in hemodialysis-dependent ESRD patients, urinalysis was not a reliable diagnostic tool in febrile and/or septic hemodialysis-dependent ESRD patients, and a urine culture was needed.
