Urban-rural integration has been found to be an inevitable trend in the development of urban-rural relations and a vital measure to tackle the unbalanced and uncoordinated development between urban and rural areas. Most existing studies on the development of urban-rural integration have only estimated its level and factors and compared the heterogeneity of cities in sample regions. Few studies have focused on the interactions between different categories of urban-rural integration levels. Accordingly, to fill the above research gap, an evaluation index system of the development of urban-rural integration is built in this study from four economic-social-spatial-ecological dimensions, the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of the development of urban-rural integration in 27 central cities in the Yangtze River Delta region between 2003 and 2020 are analyzed, and the intrinsic dynamic shock effects are empirically investigated using a panel vector autoregression (PVAR) model. This study suggests the following points: (1) the development of urban-rural integration in the Yangtze River Delta region tends to increase while fluctuating and experiences an evolutionary process of “severe dysfunction–moderate dysfunction–mild dysfunction”, with an overall positive development trend. (2) In the study period, the agglomeration effect of the level of the development of urban-rural integration in the Yangtze River Delta has been strengthened continuously, and the overall spatial distribution pattern has changed from “low level, low gap” to “high level, high gap”, showing the characteristics of decreasing class distribution step by step, with Shanghai and Anqing as the markers from east to west. (3) All the endogenous variables of the development of urban-rural integration show a continuous positive response to their own shocks, thus suggesting that the respective variable has a certain path dependence on itself. Shocks of urban-rural ecological integration are capable of boosting the improvement of urban-rural economic integration and urban-rural social integration development, and shocks of urban-rural social integration contribute to the improvement of urban-rural ecological integration. The important policy implication of this study is that an intra-regional linkage and coordination mechanism should be built in the future, while the focus should be placed on the heterogeneity of regional development, and policies and measures regarding development of urban-rural integration in a disaggregated manner should be developed, so as to facilitate the improvement of the level of regional development of urban-rural integration.

In order to develop and make full use of waste construction concrete and waste tyre rubber powder, the experiment entirely used recycled coarse aggregate to replace natural crushed stone aggregate and investigated the effect of different mesh sizes of rubber powder (20 mesh, 60 mesh, and 100 mesh) on the uniaxial compressive mechanical properties, strain energy density, and pore structure of recycled coarse aggregate concrete at three curing ages (14 d, 28 d, and 90 d). Based on the strain energy theory, fractal theory, and grey correlation theory, the effects of the fractal dimension of the pore size of the rubber powder recycled concrete on the correlation of the strain energy parameters were investigated at different curing ages. The research results show that as the age period increases, the ability of the rubber powder recycled coarse aggregate concrete to absorb strain energy increases. Before the peak stress, the rubber powder recycled coarse aggregate concrete mainly carries out the storage of elastic strain energy. The incorporation of rubber powder can refine the pore structure of the rubber powder recycled coarse aggregate concrete so that the large pore size pores evolve towards the medium (50–200 μm) or small pores (<50 μm). The fractal dimension analysis revealed that the incorporation of 20 mesh and 60 mesh rubber powder enhances the inhomogeneity of the small pore (<50 μm) and the medium pore (40 μm–140 μm) in the recycled concrete. The grey correlation analysis revealed that the pore size factor with the greatest influence on the elastic energy density was the large pore size (>200 μm).

With climate change caused by massive greenhouse gas emissions emerging as an issue of global concern, it is urgent to improve carbon emission efficiency (CEE) for countries along the Belt and Road (BRI). The super-efficiency slacks-based measure (SBM) model is adopted to evaluate the CEE of 60 BRI countries from 2010 to 2019, while the Global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) index, Theil index, and coefficient of variation (CV) are coupled to quantify the spatial and temporal variation and dynamic evolution of CEE. Subsequently, the spatial Durbin model (SDM) provides an empirical investigation regarding the impact of renewable energy investment and energy resource endowment on CEE given the spatial spillover effect. It is found that (1) From a static perspective, the CEE of BRI countries is generally poor and unevenly distributed in terms of temporal and spatial dimensions. The regional variation of CEE in Southeast Asia is narrowing, while it is widening in other regions. (2) Referring to the dynamic level, the GML index is featured U-shaped fluctuations, and both technical efficiency and technological progress contribute to the improvement of CEE in BRI countries. (3) The CEE of BRI countries exhibits significant spatial dependence, with high-high aggregation as well as low-low aggregation. (4) There is a significant positive influence of renewable energy investment on CEE in the country and neighboring countries, while energy resource endowment presents a remarkable adverse correlation. Consequently, it is suggested that the inter-regional cooperation among BRI countries should be strengthened to reinforce renewable energy investment, exert the technology and knowledge spillover effect sufficiently, and break the resource curse in the environmental field.
