“…Further information on site conditions could be gained by a regional hydraulic model which has been created on the basis of older hydraulic head measurements and hydraulic tests performed close to the site and connected with kaolin exploration activities, indicating that the hydraulic gradient of groundwater in the Tertiary is generally from southwest to northeast. Based on all results at that time a first conceptual model of the origin and migration of uranium has been formulated [1,3]. In this model, uranium is assumed to be mobilised from granite under oxidising conditions and then transported through the tertiary aquifer.…”
