“…Both coexistence ions (Ca-cations and Cl-anions) had positive effects of χ 2 = ∑ðq eðmeasÞ − q eðtheoÞ Þ 2 /q eðtheoÞ , where q eðmeasÞ and q eðtheoÞ are experimental measured and theoretical calculated adsorption capacities, respectively. reported by Mpatani et al [26] on SB-βCD polymer adsorbent. At the same time, the Clions in solution can act as inorganic ligands that strongly have affinity to oxidized AgNPs into dissolution state [50,51] and resulting oxidative degradation of BPA.…”

“…The polymerization seems to enlarge the surface area and also increased the average pore size of the adsorbent from 17.8 (WNS) to 32.7 nm (ACWNS). This could be ascribed to a decrease in the number of hydroxyl groups on WNS as they react actively with amine groups under excessive heat causing the widening of the pores sited in WNS (Ribeiro et al, 2019;Mpatani et al, 2020). The textural characteristics of ACWNS influenced the interactions between the adsorbent and pollutants, as a result increasing the adsorption quantity of both phosphate and nitrate.…”

“…Previous works reveal that WNS was less utilized compared with other agricultural wastes such as peanut husk (Mpatani et al, 2021) rice husk, bagasse (Hamoudi and Belkacemi, 2013;Mpatani et al, 2020). However, WNS could be considered as a critical agricultural waste content as a result of its large production.…”

“…As environmental issues are becoming more important, intense research interest has been dedicated to the removal of pollutants from water using different cyclodextrins-polymer systems that are tailored to eliminate organic or inorganic pollutants based on the adsorption process of the targeted molecule [ 20 , 21 , 22 ]. Based on the 3D spatial structure of CDs and on the hydrophilic/hydrophobic building, the enhanced removal of pollutants is based on guest-host interactions between the cyclodextrin derivative and the targeted pollutant.…”
