Uptake of aluminun and sulfate in solution and their influence on dissolution in cementitious material-water systems

Abstract: In this paper, the influence of A1 and SO42 on dissolution of C-S-H is reported. It was found that the uptake of A1 and SO42 influenced the dissolution of C-S-H. The concentrations of Ca and Si released from C-S-H into the solution containing A1 and SO42 were different from those into Milli-Q water. These differences in Ca and Si concentrations were dependent on Ca/Si ratio of C-S-H. We found that the Ca release into the solutions containing A1 and SO42"is not explained only by Ca~A1 exchange reaction.
