Upper Ureteric Stricture Secondary to Celiac Plexus Block Managed by Robotic Ureterocalicostomy

Abstract: Introduction: Ureterocalicostomy is a well-established procedure of choice for recurrent pelviureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction refractory to endoscopic management, failed pyeloplasty, completely intrarenal pelvis, and iatrogenic upper ureteral stricture with significant peripelvic fibrosis. Robotic ureterocalicostomy is the procedure of choice in such scenarios where meticulous dissection and accurate anastomotic suturing is required.Case Presentation: We report the case of an 18-year-old male, who underwen… Show more

“…Ureterocalycostomy is useful in patients with extensive peripelvic scarring, allowing for dependent drainage, and may compensate for lack of adequate ureteral length. Laparoscopic and robotic‐assisted laparoscopic ureterocalycostomy has a good track record of success in the adult literature 1–5 . As this procedure is infrequently performed, there is a paucity of literature regarding robotic ureterocalycostomy in the pediatric population 6,7 .…”
