Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Bleeding in Critically Ill Pediatric Patients

Abstract: Similar to adults, children under physiologic stress can develop an imbalance in defensive (mucosal layer, motility) and aggressive (gastric acid, bile salts, enzymes) factors responsible for maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal tract.
