“…The thick upper subunit is composed of siltstones and mudstones with intercalation of ostracod‐rich limestones and sandy levels. The clutch of dinosaur eggs treated herein was found at the top of a palaeosol developed in a very pale orange (10 YR 8/2), medium‐size grained, sandstone with carbonate cement, probably from the lower subunit of Salgado et al. (2007), as this subunit is the only one containing dinosaur eggs and palaeosols.…”

“…The interpreted sedimentary paleoenvironments range from purely continental such as ephemeral lacustrine, aeolian and fluvial systems to coastal marine paleoenvironments with development of estuaries and tidal flats Armas andSánchez, 2011, 2013), followed by a lagoon sedimentary stage from marsh to sea with carbonate precipitation in an area protected from waves, ending with a retraction leading to the accumulation of evaporites (Page et al, 1999;Barrio, 1990). The fossil record shows that this formation includes vertebrate skeletal remains, dinosaur eggshells, theropod teeth, remains of birds, scutes from turtles and crocodiles, lungfish teeth, indeterminate plant impressions, freshwater ostracods and fresh and salt water pelecypods (Uliana and Dellapé, 1981;Hugo and Leanza, 2001;Coria et al, 2007;Salgado et al, 2007).…”
