Abstract:Ferroptosis, a unique iron-dependent mode of cell death, has been identified as a potential treatment for glioblastoma (GBM). Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) is a ferroptosis inducer with cytotoxicity that is strongly dependent on intracellular Fe 2+ levels. However, the effectiveness of DHA is limited by low levels of Fe 2+ in tumor cells. To address this issue, a facile strategy was developed by combining near-infrared (NIR)-induced ferrous ion regeneration with DHA in a nanocomposite (ApoE-UPGs-DHA). This nanocomp… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
