Upaya Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas 5 Subtema Usaha Pelestarian Lingkungan Melalui Pendekatan Science Environment Technology And Society

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of class 5 students in the Environmental Conservation Business sub-theme through the Science Environment Technology and Society (SETS) approach. The research subjects were grade 5 students. Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisted of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of three stages, namely planning, implementing and observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques namely test techniques and non-test techniques in the form of attitude and observation scales. The research instruments are test items, attitude scales, and observation sheets. The data analysis technique is comparative quantitative. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes from pre-cycle to cycle 1 and cycle 2 by 66%: 79%: 89% of 28 students. Increasing learning outcomes is sought through the SETS approach with steps 1) the water cycle practice initiation stage; 2) the stage of forming the concept of water sustainability; 3) concept application stage using schematic technology; 4) the stage of consolidating the concept of water conservation in everyday life, and 5) the stage of evaluating self-confidence, conceptual understanding, and student performance. The conclusion from this study is that the SETS approach can improve the learning outcomes of class 5 students in the Environmental Conservation Business sub-theme.
