Up-Conversion Luminescence and Temperature Sensing of Er3+/Yb3+ Codoped Y2(1–x %)Lu2x %O3 Solid Solution

Abstract: In this paper, Er 3+ /Yb 3+ codoped Y 2(1−x%) Lu 2x % O 3 solid solution was prepared through the sol−gel method, and the substitution of Y 3+ by Lu 3+ ions in Y 2 O 3 was confirmed by X-ray diffraction data. The upconversion emissions of samples under 980 nm excitation and the relative upconversion processes are investigated. The emission shapes do not vary with the change in doping concentration due to the unaltered cubic phase. The redto-green ratio changes from 2.7 to 7.8 and then declines to 4.4 as the do… Show more

“…Note that optical thermometry based on non-thermally coupled energy levels (NTCLs) has been proposed. 10,11 It is an ideal method for temperature sensing because it is not dependent on the limitation of energy gaps and can achieve a higher relative sensitivity.…”
