“…The LOD was calculated to be 3.06 J m À2 , which is lower than those of UO 2 (phen)(CH 3 COO)(OH) and UO 2 (5-NIPA)(DMF) and comparable with that of a colormetric crystal violet lactone (CVL) (Table S3, ESI †). 20,30,31 In addition to the UV radiation, the sensitization capacity of U-bppCOO toward X-rays was also examined. Dose dependent luminescence spectra were collected on single crystals of U-bppCOO under X-ray radiation from a tungsten filament.…”

“…16,17 Alternatively, incorporating carboxylate ligands in uranyl coordination polymers can produce an array of stable radical species upon ionizing radiation and efficiently quench the UO 2 2+ emission in a dose-dependent manner, making them suitable for ionizing radiation dosimetry. [18][19][20][21][22] Despite the emergence of such materials, the rationale of using uranyl cations as a building block of radiation detection materials requires further elucidation. The governing factors of the sensing efficacy, e.g., sensitivity or limit of detection (LOD), remain uncertain and obtaining radiation detecting materials based on uranyl bearing materials is usually accomplished in trial-and-error methodologies.…”
