Abstract:Point-of-care ultrasound is an effective tool for pediatric emergency physicians in addition to the physical examination for respiratory failure and suspected pleural effusion. We present a series of three unusual cases where point-of-care ultrasound was crucial as first diagnostic tool to identify pleural effusion and to allow further therapeutic choices.
