“…Lymphomatoid papulosis has so far been considered a clinically benign disorder but with malignant histology (Thomsen, Hjort & Svendsen, 1972;Macaulay, 1978;Black, 1981;Weinman & Ackerman, 1981). Although the majority of reported cases had a benign course, the number of published cases that have developed systemic lympho-proliferative disease is increasing (Kawada, Anekoji & Miyamoto, 1969;Black & Wilson-Jones, 1972;Dupont, 1973;Messenger, Marshall & Summerly, 1981;Scheen, Doyle & Winkelmann, 1981). Lymphomatoid papulosis is easily diagnosed by the clinical criteria in combination with the rather characteristic histological changes (Weinman & Ackerman, 1981), but the histology may differ widely even in the same patient.…”

“…Lymphomatoid papulosis (Valentino & Helwig, 1973) is normally considered to be a variant of pityriasis lichenoides which shows some histological features normally associated with a malignant process. However, two patients have been described who appeared to be suffering from lymphomatoid papulosis, and eventually developed mahgnant lymphoma (Kawada et aL, 1969;Black & Wilson Jones, 1973). Cutaneous involvement may be a presenting feature of lymphomatoid granulomatosis (Liebow, Carrington & Friedman, 1972), and histological examination shows lymphomatous and granulomatous changes associated with a vascuUtis (MacDonald & Sarkany, 1976).…”

“…K awada el at. [4] assume that this papular eruption may be au tochthonous, a presarcomatous manifestation of reticulum-cell sarcoma or of a malignant reticulosis of the skin. In other words, that it may be a mani festation resulting from an interplay between neoplastic induction and the host.…”

“…Kawada et al [4] reported 2 cases with remitting papular eruptions which clinically resembled parapsoriasis guttata. There were dermal in filtrates of large atypical reticulum cells intermingled with lymphocytes.…”
