“…Testosterone given during and after operation has not been found to influence the postoperative rise in the urinary excretion of corticosteroids (Edwards, Jepson, and Reece, 1957). Norethandrolone and methandienone reduce the urinary excretion of corticosteroids in resting patients (Brooks and Prunty, 1957;Wynn, Landon, and James, 1962)~ but neither these nor various other anabolic steroids affect the adrenocortical response to exogenous corticotrophin (Huis in't Veld, Louwerens, and van der Spek, 1960;Wynn and others, 1962).
