Unsymmetrically, chemically activated 1,2-dicyclopropylacetylene: an example of restricted energy flow?

Abstract: 094ChemInform Abstract The reactions of methylene (II) with 1-(D2)cyclopropyl-2-vinylacetylene (I) and of (D2)methylene (IV) with 1-cyclopropyl-2-vinylacetylene (V) both give rise to the 1,2-dicyclopropylacetylene (III) chemically activated in the unlabeled cyclopropyl ring, or in the labeled ring, respectively. Analysis of the experimental results reveals a small amount of rearrangement at high pressures occurring prior to complete symmetrization of structure and/or energy.
