Unsteady MHD free convective heat and mass transfer from a vertical porous plate with Hall current, thermal radiation and chemical reaction effects

Abstract: SUMMARYAn analysis is presented to investigate the effects of chemical reaction, thermal radiation and heat generation or absorption on unsteady free convective heat and mass transfer along an infinite vertical porous plate in the presence of a transverse magnetic field and Hall current. The governing partial differential equations are formulated and transformed by using a similarity transformation into a system of ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved numerically using a fourth-o… Show more

“…Makinde [19] investigated the MHD boundary layer flow with the heat and mass transfer over a moving vertical plate in the presence of magnetic field and convective heat exchange at the surface. Recently, Ali-Chamkha and Mansour [20] examined the effect of chemical reaction, thermal radiation, and heat generation or absorption on the unsteady MHD free convective heat and mass transfer along an infinite vertical plate. More recently, Ramana-Murthy and Hari [21] examined the nature of the various flow entities of an unsteady two-dimensional laminar convective boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible and chemically reacting fluid along a semi-infinite vertical plate with suction by taking the effects of dissipation into account.…”

“…Analysis of thermophoretic MHD slip flow over a permeable surface has been presented by Das et al [3]. Chamkha et al [4] study the Hall current, thermal radiation, and chemical reaction effects on heat and mass transfer. Hayat and Nawaz [5] have analyzed second-grade fluid flow in three dimensional under the Hall and ion slip effects.…”
