Unsteady hydromagnetic free convection flow with hall current mass transfer and variable suction through a porous medium near an infinite vertical porous plate with constant heat flux

Abstract: The effects of Hall current on unsteady free convection flow of an MHD viscous incompressible fluid along an infinite vertical porous plate are investigated in the presence of a uniformly applied magnetic field acting in a plane which makes an angle α with the plane transverse to the plate. A similarity parameter, taken to be a function of time, is introduced, and the suction velocity is considered to be inversely proportional to this parameter. Similarity equations are then derived and solved numerically. The… Show more

“…In view of these applications, many researchers have studied MHD free convective heat and mass transfer flow in a porous medium; some of them are Raptis and Kafoussias 27 , Sattar 29 and Kim 21 . Jaiswal and Soundalgekar 20 obtained an approximate solution to the problem of an unsteady flow past an infinite vertical plate with constant suction and embedded in a porous medium with oscillating plate temperature.…”

“…Raptis [2] discussed free convection and mass transfer effects on the oscillatory flow past an infinite moving vertical isothermal plate with constant suction and heat sources. Unsteady hydromagnetic free convection flow with Hall current mass transfer and variable suction through a porous medium near an infinite vertical porous plate with constant heat flux was studied by Sattar [3]. Lai and Kulacki [4] analyzed Non-Darcy mixed convection along a vertical wall in a saturated porous medium.…”
