Preschool teachers’ literacy-related beliefs and literacy knowledge relate to their educational practices and preschoolers’ literacy skills. In this light, we explored how preschool teachers’ beliefs regarding early literacy and its promotion predict their knowledge, reflected in how they evaluate three young children’s writing products and their recommendations for ways to promote these children’s writing, taking into consideration teacher and classroom variables (teacher training, preschool age group, and preschool SES). Participants were 110 teachers of preschoolers (aged 4–6). The teachers completed a literacy beliefs questionnaire. They were then presented with three products written by anonymous 5.5-year-old preschoolers, representing three writing levels: initial, intermediate, and advanced, and asked what each child knows about writing and recommendations for how they can be promoted. Responses were coded for the following aspects: letters, phonology, orthography, the writing system, and composing. Results showed that preschool teachers believe children’s early literacy and its promotion are important, and that these beliefs predicted some of their evaluations and recommendations. In the evaluations, the teachers did not relate at all to composing. They related primarily to letters and phonology, both in their assessments of the children’s knowledge and their recommendations for promoting the children’s writing. At more advanced writing levels, they also related to Hebrew orthography and the writing system, and made recommendations regarding these aspects. The study suggests that preschool teachers should be encouraged to incorporate composing and more complex aspects of writing into their writing activities and instruction.

Вступ. У статті обґрунтовано потребу посилення ефективності професійної підготовки майбутніх фахівців дошкільної освіти в контексті реалізації завдань психолінгвістичного розвитку дітей дошкільного віку. Зазначено на реалізації засадничих положень сучасної дошкільної освіти, закцентовано як на специфіці забезпечення готовності здобувачів освіти до психолінгвістичного розвитку дітей дошкільного віку, так і на особливостях перебігу цього процесу у вихованців закладу дошкільної освіти. Виокремлено такі компоненти професійної готовності майбутніх вихователів до психолінгвістичного розвитку дітей дошкільного віку: когнітивний, емоційно-ціннійсний, діяльнісний. Мета полягала у з’ясуванні теоретичних основ сутності підготовки майбутніх вихователів до психолінгвістичного розвитку дітей дошкільного віку та визначенні стану порушеної проблеми в реальній практиці здобуття освіти за освітньо-професійною програмою спеціальності 012 Дошкільна освіта на першому (бакалаврському) рівні в Університеті Григорія Сковороди в Переяславі за результатами проведення емпіричного дослідження. Методи дослідження: теоретичні – аналіз, синтез, систематизація, конкретизація й узагальнення опрацьованої науково-джерельної бази дослідження у визначенні й обґрунтуванні актуальності та ключових позицій наукової проблеми; емпіричні – опитування студентів на основі укладеної авторської анкети “Самооцінка готовності майбутніх вихователів до психолінгвістичного розвитку дошкільників”, зріз рівня сформованих компетентностей у здобувачів освіти першого (бакалаврського) рівня за ОПП зі спеціальності 012 Дошкільна освіта на основі проведення термінологічного диктанту та кількісна й якісна інтерпретація отриманих результатів. Результати. Встановлено, що анкетуванням “Самооцінка готовності майбутніх вихователів до психолінгвістичного розвитку дошкільників”, проведеним зі студентами-бакалаврами спеціальності 012 Дошкільна освіта, виявлено сформованість когнітивного та емоційно-ціннісного компонентів професійної підготовки на достатньому рівні, а діяльнісного – на низькому. За отриманими даними опанування здобувачами спеціальності 012 Дошкільна освіта термінологічним словником також потребує подальшої систематичної роботи, оскільки сприймання, розуміння сутності і застосування термінів-понять психолінгвістичного змісту позначається на активній фаховій комунікації. Висновки. Задля подолання труднощів та вдосконалення професійної підготовки майбутніх вихователів до психолінгвістичного розвитку дошкільників варто посилити формування вмінь та навичок шляхом проведення практичних занять безпосередньо в закладі дошкільної освіти, а також стимулювати їх до поглибленого оволодіння психолінгвофаховими знаннями. Аспекти мотивації сучасних фахівців з дошкільної освіти до вдосконалення мовленнєво-професійної майстерності становитимуть основу подальшого наукового пошуку.
