Universality of weakly bound dimers and Efimov trimers close to Li–Cs Feshbach resonances

Abstract: We study the interspecies scattering properties of ultracold Li-Cs mixtures in their two energetically lowest spin channels in the magnetic field range between 800 and 1000 G. Close to two broad Feshbach resonances (FR) we create weakly bound LiCs dimers by radio-frequency association and measure the dependence of their binding energy on the external magnetic field strength. Based on the binding energies and complementary atom loss spectroscopy of three other Li-Cs s-wave FRs we construct precise molecular sin… Show more

“…However, in the case of two heavy bosonic atoms of mass M (denoted H) and one light atom of mass m < M (denoted L), this factor can become significantly smaller than the value 22.7 for identical bosons [2,[12][13][14]. Relaxation and recombination losses near an interspecies resonance have recently been investigated in mixtures of Cesium and Lithium atoms and three consecutive Cs-Cs-Li Efimov resonances were observed in agreement with the predicted scaling relations [15][16][17][18][19]. The effect of the Cs-Cs scattering length on the Efimov resonances was investigated in Refs.…”

“…Two intermediately broad (s res ≈ 0.7 [33]) Cs-Li Feshbach resonances (FRs), located at approx. 843 G and 889 G, are well suited for the study of the heteronuclear Efimov scenario [33][34][35][36]. They are characterized by different sign and magnitude of the Cs-Cs scattering length a CsCs : while close to the 843 G resonance the intraspecies scattering length is large and negative a CsCs ≈ −1500 a 0 , the 889 G resonance is characterized by a small and positive a CsCs ≈ +190 a 0 [37].…”

“…The experiment gives an even larger value for λ (1) due to the larger value of a (1) −,exp in comparison to the zero-range and vdW models. exp are extracted by fitting a Gaussian profile with linear background to the three-body loss rate L3(B) and conversion to scattering length a (n) −,exp via the parametrization given in [36]. The values in brackets represent the statistical, systematic and conversion error.…”
