Unit commitment based reliability analysis with contingency constraint

Abstract: <span lang="EN-IN">Unit commitment state’s the strategic choice to be prepared in order to define which of the accessible power plants should be taken into account to supply power. It permits utilities to reduce generation price of power. In this paper, the unit commitment problem is elucidated by taking N-1-1 contingency as a foremost constraint. The standard N-1-1 contingency takes the loss of sequential two components in the network having intervening interval for network modifications in the middle o… Show more

“…These preselected failure scenarios can be counted like N -1, Nk, or randomly sampled through MCs. Especially, References [4][5][6][7] presented an RCUC considering the security of first-order contingencies. Reference [8] put forward a simplified RCUC considering N -1 by using LODF information.…”

“…Thus obtained results, load point and system indices [11] are more accurate reliability indices of the system. Contingency constrain related to generation and evaluation of Loss of Load Expected (LOLE) is presented [12], but the proposed approach analysis transmission contingencies along with generation and evaluates complete load point and system indices.…”
