Unique primed status of microglia under the systemic autoimmune condition of lupus-prone mice

Abstract: BackgroundSystemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the production of various autoantibodies. This disease causes disabling neuropsychiatric symptoms even in the absence of apparent inflammation in the central nervous system (CNS), but the mechanisms involved remain unknown.
