Unification of flavor SU(3) analyses of heavy Hadron weak decays

Abstract: Analyses of heavy mesons and baryons hadronic charmless decays using the flavor SU(3) symemtry can be formulated in two different forms. One is to construct the SU(3) irreducible representation amplitude by decomposing effective Hamiltonian, and the other is to draw the topological diagrams. In the flavor SU(3) limit, we study various B/D → P P, V P, V V , B c → D P/DV decays, and two-body nonleptonic decays of beauty/charm baryons, and demonstrate that when all terms are included these two ways of analyzing t… Show more

“…In this work we will analyze two body weak hadronic decays to obtain the main decay modes and also to find relations among different decays as tests for SUð3Þ flavor symmetry where u, d, and s form a fundamental representation 3. SUð3Þ flavor symmetry has been used to study hadronic decays for hadrons with light quarks and with heavy quarks [9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. In the lack of results from established method of first principle calculation from QCD, such as lattice calculation, SUð3Þ studies have given many interesting results for hadrons that contain a heavy b quark, and in many cases are quantitatively in agreement with experimental data.…”

“…We will denote them by H jk i for H c eff , H i j for H b eff with a ¼ u, and H i for H b eff with a ¼ c, respectively. Their nonzero entries are given by [15,24] H 31 [13]. Here the subscript for the representations indicates where they come from, and the H shows that the given representation comes from the effective Hamiltonian.…”

“…for both l ¼ P and l ¼ D. Since, A CP depends on the masses of the initial and final baryons as well as the final state meson [71,114], some approximation is needed to obtain the A CP relations between various modes. In the U-spin limit [115], by ignoring p D and m D differences between such modes, CP violation relations can be experimentally verified using the relation [50,86,115],…”
