Ungewöhnliche paramagnetische Zentren in Markasitkristallen

Abstract

In natural single crystals of marcasite we could detect Mn2+ on iron site by EPR in the low‐spin configuration with S = 1/2, and Cu2+ within a compressed ligand octahedron. The unusual EPR parameters are considered to be tue to the strongly covalent bonding. Further resonances were assigned to Au0, presumably also on iron site, (SF)2‐, and S−, alltogether centers with spin S = 1/2.
