Unexpected discovery of hemoglobinopathy C/β° thalassemia

Abstract: Key Clinical MessageHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is the current method of choice for the detection of hemoglobinopathies and the quantification of A2 and fetal hemoglobin. We are describing a case where a double heterozygosity C/beta‐thalassemia was fortuitously identified, during assaying HBA1c, by HPLC.
