Abstract:The gut microbiome is the consortia of microorganisms, viruses, fungi, bacteria and protozoa, that inhabit the gastrointestinal human tract. Many nonmodifiable and modifiable factors regulate the gut microbiota composition, which includes age, sex, medications, stress, environmental triggers and diet.
