Abstract:Vitiligo is a chronic skin disorder characterized by the loss of pigmentation, resulting in white patches on the skin. The condition arises from the destruction of melanocytes, the cells responsible for producing melanin, the pigment that gives colour to the skin, hair, and eyes. Although the exact etiology of vitiligo remains elusive, it is believed to involve a complex interplay of genetic, autoimmune, and environmental factors.
