“…All in all, compared to previous classifications our typology of neighborhoods is especially useful, when analyzing topics that strongly relate to the build-environment such as the illustrative examples of population growth, density and car-ownership demonstrate. The classification can be combined with all kinds of spatially explicit data sources, and interesting topics include various aspects related to city planning and urban growth as the built environment is one of the main policy instruments used by the cities (Krigsholm et al, 2022). Finally, in this paper we look at neighborhoods aggregated to city level, but classification and its potential local applications should be also very usable for both research and practice, whenever detailed information on individual neighborhoods is needed.…”
