Understanding ultrasound-mediated blood-brain barrier opening as a potential non-invasive therapeutic approach for Alzheimer’s disease

Abstract: Dementia is one of the most pressing problems facing human society, not just because of its complex etiology, but also due to the burden it places on global health and economy, with Alzheimer's disease (AD) being the most common form of affliction. Unfortunately, the current treatment strategies for AD only offer symptomatic relief, without a promise for a cure.
