This study investigates the effects of environmental attitudes on pro-environmental behavior. A conceptual model examines the structural relations among environmental attitude, concern, value and knowledge towards pro environmental behavior of ecotourist. 439 Iranian ecotourists from Mashhad mountains were randomly surveyed. This study uses the structural equation model (SEM) to evaluate the factor that influence the pro-environmental behaviors. Results shows that pro-environmental concern, anthropocentric and ecocentric environmental attitude has a significant influence on pro-environmental behavior. Este estudio investiga los efectos de las actitudes medioambientales sobre el comportamiento proambiental. Un modelo conceptual examina las relaciones estructurales entre la actitud medioambiental, la preocupación, el valor y el conocimiento hacia el comportamiento proambiental del ecoturista. Se encuestó aleatoriamente a 452 ecoturistas iraníes de las montañas de Mashhad. Este estudio utiliza el modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (SEM) para evaluar los factores que influyen en los comportamientos proambientales. Los resultados muestran que la preocupación proambiental y la actitud medioambiental antropocéntrica y ecocéntrica influyen significativamente en el comportamiento proambiental.

The role of pro-environmental behaviour in environmental care and mitigation of environmental problems is widely recognised. However, most studies on pro-environmental behaviour have focused on populations living in Western and high-income countries and only a few studies are available in developing countries. In this paper, we explored and compared the determinants of pro-environmental behaviour of citizens in six African countries, namely Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe. We examined the relationship between socio-demographic variables and pro-environmental behaviour of citizens within and across these countries using secondary data collected through Wave 6 of the World Value Surveys. The results showed that there were differences and some similarities in pro-environmental behaviour across the selected countries. Factors such as gender, education, social class, membership of environmental organisations and employment status positively correlated with pro-environmental behaviour among the selected respondents. Based on the study findings, recommendations are made within to improve and increase pro-environmental behaviour in the selected countries.

Throughout the consumer behavior's field, comprehending materialism across different countries has been of critical importance to transformative consumer research authors, marketers and policy makers. Materialism was discussed with its pros and cons in previous studies. However, present conflicting results exist across various contexts about its effects on socially responsible behavior. Nevertheless, the past studies included vast research on materialistic values, they embraced a limited research scope regarding the materialistic personality traits (MPT) and their influence on consumers' sustainable behavior. This study tests the validity and reliability of Belk's materialistic personality traits scale in Egypt, as one of the influential and mass consumer societies in the Arab region. It contributes towards understanding the influence of materialism as a personality trait on reduced consumption behavior and whether these dimensions vary among age, gender and place of residence. Large scale survey instrument was distributed across Egypt using quota non-random sampling which yielded 540 respondents. Plausible findings revealed significant effects of the materialistic personality traits on the reduced consumption behavior and indicated variances across the denoted demographics. This will help marketers and policy makers better describe and target the consumers' materialistic personalities through designing effective communication that develops a pro-sustainable consumption behavior to bring about a change for a sustainable future.
