Understanding the binding affinity of noscapines with protease of SARS-CoV-2 for COVID-19 using MD simulations at different temperatures

Abstract: The current outbreak of a novel coronavirus, named as SARS-CoV-2 causing COVID-19 occurred in 2019, is in dire need of finding potential therapeutic agents. Recently, ongoing viral epidemic due to coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) primarily affected mainland China that now threatened to spread to populations in most countries of the world. In spite of this, there is currently no antiviral drug/ vaccine available against coronavirus infection, COVID-19. In the present study, computer-aided drug design-based screening to… Show more

“…Among them two crucial proteases such as main protease (Mpro) and papain-like protease (PLpro) are vital for virus replication 22 , 23 , 24 . Meanwhile, a tremendous effort has been spent on studying these proteases in order to discover specific inhibitors against this noxious COVID-19 25- 30 .…”

“…Another co-crystal (PDB-ID 6Y2F/6Y2G), a-ketoamide inhibitor (13b) is also reported recently, providing the structural and residue-based architecture of catalytic sites . These co-crystals are paving the route for the application of virtual screening (VS) to get more efficacious molecules (Al-Khafaji et al, 2020;Kumar et al, 2020;Lobo-Galo et al, 2020).…”
