Abstract: Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) houses a group of non-tuberculous mycobacteria causing pulmonary and disseminated infections. They are accountable for nodular bronchiectatic and fibrocavitary lung diseases in humans, Johne’s disease in ruminants, and respiratory diseases in birds.
