“…In the Australian context, there is no standardised national nursing curriculum (Hall, 2014 ); therefore, each university conducts assessments differently leading to ‘widely different standards held by different institutions’ (Schwartz, 2019 , p. 42). This is coupled with the absence of an a‐priori numeracy requirement for entry to most Australian nursing degrees, and no guidance for nurse academics provided by the Australian RN Accreditation Standards (Minty‐Walker et al., 2021 ). It is timely to gain an insight into how these assessments are conducted to work towards an evidence‐based model or benchmark for the assessment of numeracy.…”
