Abstract: Northeastern states, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura – falling in Eastern Himalaya and Indo-Burma hotspots, house a large number of indigenous communities, mostly forest and forest fringe dwellers, whose economy is also dependent on livestock.
