Uncertainty evaluation of radon measurements with LR115 detector and spark counter

Abstract: To evaluate the uncertainties for nuclear track detectors used in radon measurements, a full understanding is required of the physical phenomena involved and the behaviour of the instruments utilised in the measuring process. As it concerns the LR115 nuclear track detector, an overall evaluation of uncertainty was given. It was assessed taking into account different contributions and determining their relative weights. Since such detectors are often read by a spark counter device, a model to describe its behav… Show more

“…Figure (3) shows up, the group of uranium for healthy human was fluctuating from(0.077-0.216 ppb) with the typical regard (0.121 ppb), the most decreased union of uranium was found in the B6 sample (female, 26 year, Baghdad aljadida) and proportional to ( 0.077 ppb), yet the centralization of uranium (0.216 ppb) was found in B10 sample (male, 45year, Taji). Figure (4) shows up, the group of uranium for leukemia, human were moving from (1.330-1.960 ppb) with the ordinary regard (1.671 ppb), the most negligible meeting of uranium (1.330 ppb) was found in B16 sample (male, 24year, altalibiya), the most hoisted centralization of uranium (1.960 ppb) was found in a B13 sample(female, 27year, Falluja).…”

“…Also exposure is high gas levels also be cause it to happen cancers, such as leukemia in children. Long-term exposure to radiation, in any form, harms genetic and human fertility and activity, severely influencing future generations [2]. In our current study, we took a sample of mineral water from ten different regions, then we created three different models to determine the amount of radon in this water and compared these models to obtain the best model for determining the amount of radon in mineral water.…”

“…Exposure to elevated levels of the gas may also be implicated in the occurrence of other cancers, such as leukemia in children. The prolonged exposure to the radiation from any form of ionization activity, genetic and human fertility damage will also occur, thus impacting adversely on future generations [3]. In this study, sheets of LR-115 with thickness (90) µm type II detector have been used are supplied by Kodak Co. France.…”
