Abstract:Resumo O estudo parte de duas obras análogas - um livro e um folheto - produzidas no século XVI e que retratam Nicolas Durand de Villegagnon como o Ciclope Polifemo, figura estabelecida por textos clássicos como a Odisseia, de Homero, e o Ciclope, de Eurípides.
