Ultraviolet Spectrometry

Abstract: This biennial review coauthors (11). Volume 1 devotes about 160 pages to ultraviolet and visible spectrometry, reviewed by Simmons (99). One chapter on electronic spectra is included in "Introduction to Molecular Spectroscopy" by Barrow (7).This has been reviewed (72).

“…Viscosity is obtained with a rheometer (in general, outside of the process run), and so on. Additional analytical methods like gas chromatography (GC) [99,100], infrared (IR) spectrometry [101], ultraviolet (UV) spectrometry [102], the above mentioned Raman spectrometry [103], mass spectrometry (MS) [104,105] or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR) [106,107,108,109,110] are used to determine the components of the mixture, depending on the applicability of the respective method to the gas. Visualization of flow processes can be obtained by, for example, high speed videography [111,112,113].…”

“…This review reports the developments in ultraviolet and light absorption spectrometry from January 1994 through December 1995, primarily as documented in the Ultraviolet & Visible Spectroscopy section of CA Selects, and extends the series of reviews on these topics sponsored by Analytical Chemistry starting with Light Absorption Spectrometry in 1945 (1-3), followed by Ultraviolet Absorption Spectrometry in 1949 (4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9) and combined Ultraviolet and Light Absorption Spectrometry in 1978 (10,11). As in the previous reviews, the subject matter is divided into sections on chemistry, physics, and applications.…”

“…However, since the last reporting period for this review covered the time period from January 1994 through December 1995, this current review will be reporting the developments in ultraviolet and visible absorption spectrometry from January 1996 through October 1997. The citation sources for this review are primarily those as documented in the Ultraviolet & Visible Spectroscopy section of CA Selects and extend the series of reviews on these topics sponsored by Analytical Chemistry starting with Light Absorption Spectrometry in 1945 ( ), followed by Ultraviolet Absorption Spectrometry in 1949 ( ) and combined Ultraviolet and Light Absorption Spectrometry in 1978 ( ). As in the previous reviews, the subject matter is divided into sections on chemistry, physics, and applications.…”
