Ultrastructure of Polyangium cellulosum

Abstract: Polyangium cellulosum was examined with the transmission electron microscope and the scanning electron microscope. Freeze-fracturing and criticalpoint-drying techniques were employed with the latter instrument. Criticalpoint drying seemed to eliminate the distortion of cells and fruiting bodies.
