Ultrastructure of conidiogenesis in the thallic Hyphomycete Oidiodendron griseum

Abstract: Electron microscopy of conidiogenesis in the thallic Hyphomycete Oidiodendron griseum Robak was done on material fixed in glutaraldehyde followed by OsO4. Endohyphae are found at the base of the stalk-like conidiophore. Arthroconidia are formed by basipetal and random septation of the preformed apical fertile hyphae. The thickening of these septa gives the appearance of connectives between adjacent arthroconidia.
