“…Buprofezin (2- tert -butylimino-3-isopropyl-5-phenyl-1,3,5-thiadiazinan-4-one) is a broad-spectrum insect growth regulator that interrupts the development of immature insects by inhibiting chitin biosynthesis and subsequent cuticle deposition. This compound has been widely used on tea, rice, potatoes, citrus fruit, cotton, and vegetables to control various pests, such as whiteflies, planthoppers, leafhoppers, and scales. Because of its high hydrophobicity and stability in acid and alkali environments, buprofezin is easily adsorbed by soil particles, which may contribute to its long-term retention in soil . Under aerobic field conditions, the half-life of buprofezin is in the range of 50–70 days, and under flooded field conditions, the half-life is approximately 36–104 days.…”
