Ultrastable CsPbBr3 Perovskite Quantum Dot and Their Enhanced Amplified Spontaneous Emission by Surface Ligand Modification

Abstract: mixture at 150 °C for 2 min and then Cs-oleate solution (0.4 mL in ODE) was quickly injected. After 5 s, the reaction mixture was cooled by the ice-water bath to room temperature.

“…Theoretical calculation showed that ligand loss due to weak surface ligands and QD binding energy lead to the problem of poor long‐term stability. [ 136 ] By employing 2‐hexyldecanoic acid (DA) ligand with shorter chains to substitute OA ligand, Yan et al realized CsPbBr3‐DA QDs films which showed superior colloidal stability and efficient emission. [ 136 ] The synthesized CsPbBr 3 ‐DA QDs which had strong binding energy between DA ligands and QDs could be stored in air for up to 70 d without ligand loss, and films based on it could still output 94.3% of its original photoluminescence intensity after 28 d storage.…”

“…27 Further, Huang et al treated CsPbX 3 nanocrystals with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane and observed enhanced stability in water for several months. 28 In general, long chain surface ligands impede efficient charge recombination, 29 favouring the use of shorter ligands. 23 However, it has been observed that changing the length of the aliphatic chains, and changing the base-acid ratio in the reaction medium yields drastic variations in the size, shape, crystal phase and optical properties of the final products, which can assume varied morphologies including spheres, cubes, plates, sheets, rods, and wires.…”
