Ultrasound Radiomics Nomogram to Diagnose Sub-Centimeter Thyroid Nodules Based on ACR TI-RADS

Abstract: The aim of the present study was to develop a radiomics nomogram to assess whether thyroid nodules (TNs) < 1 cm are benign or malignant. From March 2021 to March 2022, 156 patients were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, and from September 2017 to March 2022, 116 patients were retrospectively collected from the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. These patients were divided into a training group and an external test group. A radiomics n… Show more

“…Although the results of the ultrasomics model compared with LI-RADS were encouraging, the difference between the two scores in the ability to differentiate ICC from HCC was not significant [ 92 ]. The data obtained on liver ultrasomics were similar to those obtained on thyroid, breast, or kidney ultrasomics [ 95 , 96 , 97 , 98 , 99 , 100 , 101 ].…”

“…In recent years, radiomics had been used in the eld of thyroid ultrasound, which could convert ultrasound images from traditionally visual interpretation to quantitative features, it might be helpful to extrapolate data and choose proper clinical decision-making [21] . Many studies [9,[22][23][24] mainly focused on the differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules or prediction of lymph node metastasis in patients with PTC. Most researchers established radiomics based on BMUS for the diagnosis of thyroid nodules in the previous studies.…”

“…It has been gradually applied in the research of various tumors, including tumor diagnosis, prognosis prediction, and gene analysis. Several studies have demonstrated the value of radiomics when applied in the differentiation of benign and malignant thyroid nodules [28][29][30] and the aggressiveness assessment of thyroid tumors [31][32][33][34][35]. For the preoperative prediction of ETE, Wang et al constructed a US radiomics-based nomogram, which has a high predictive value [36].…”
