Ultrasound-Guided Nonsurgical Closure of Postangiographic Femoral Pseudoaneurysm

Abstract: Iatrogenic femoral arterial injuries are a common occurrence because of the large number of angiographic studies that are performed nowadays. Color Doppler is a sensitive technique for the diagnosis of femoral pseudoaneurysms and arteriovenous fistulas. Importantly, it can also be used to guide external compression in an attempt to obliterate pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula, with good results.

An alternative to open surgical repair of a PSA with an associated AVF in an elderly high-risk patient is described.…”
