“…In all, 340 articles were identified (Supporting Table 1); however, only 4 level 1b studies 10-13 and 5 level 3b studies [14][15][16][17][18] could ultimately be used to answer the questions (see Tables 1 and 2). Among the 4 level 1b studies, only the study by Durand et al 13 used a completely independent reference standard (ie, an explanted liver or resection specimen).…”

“…One requirement for inclusion was that all malignancies needed to be proven by histology, and the needle type and the followup had to be known as well. “…The risk of needle tracking depends on size of the tumor, thickness of hepatic parenchyma, number of needle passes, tumor grade, and type of needle used. [15] In the present study population, no complications occurred during and after the procedure. The incidence of needle track seedling was 0.6% (one of 148 patients of HCC) in study done by Reddy et al [16] Among the 13 cases of ovarian masses, most common lesions were malignant (eight cases, 61.54%); a similar observation was made out in the study done by Sobha et al [17] (58.3%) and Pranab et al [18] (87.5%), which was different from the observation made by Sidhalingreddy and Andola.…”
