“…Using UBM, Kobayashi et al 23 studied the anterior chamber biometric characteristics in infants and children aged 1 to 60 months (mean age 17.09 G 16.99 months), an age group comparable to that in the present study. They found a mean ACD of 2505 G 480 mm (range 1724 to 3473 mm) and a mean TIA of 28.74 G 7.46 degrees (range 15.35 to 44.79 degrees).…”

“…It is worth noting that exclusion of these 3 microphthalmic eyes from statistical analysis did not yield a significant difference in the measured values for ACD and lens thickness. However, in the present study, the angle of the anterior chamber appears wider than the angle (TIA) in the studies by Tsuchiya et al 22 and Kobayashi et al 23 Whether it is feasible to compare the 2 variables (although obtained by different reference points and measurement techniques) should be a subject of further studies. In conclusion: (1) Slitlamp examination is mandatory for the evaluation and proper morphological classification of childhood cataracts.…”

“…9 10 Irrespective of the anatomical or imaging nature of studies on eyes with congenital glaucoma, a wide anterior chamber and an open angle were a persistent finding. 11 Trabeculotomy ab externo has stood the test of time as a treatment of choice for congenital glaucoma. Its main advantage over goniotomy is its relative indifference to the transparency of the cornea.…”

“…Anterior chamber depth was only 0.91 mm in the right eye and 0.77 mm in the left eye (average at 1 month 1.779 mm). 1 No ciliochoroidal effusions were found. A peripheral iridectomy was then performed in the right eye.…”
