Ultrasonic Methods of the Cells Separation in Human Blood

Abstract: This work deals with the problem of ultrasound in the context of biomedical and clinical applications. Ultrasonic waves can be used for the separation of cells in human blood. Under the inuence of ultrasonic waves cells included in the liquid experience a certain characteristic displacement was referred to as drift. Presented work suggests that only radiation pressure should be taken into account as a mechanism of drifting in this situation. It has been demonstrated that the growth of cells concentration aroun… Show more

“…This paper presents the theoretical analysis of the mechanisms of the action of drift forces on cells in fluid in a standing ultrasonic wave. The results of our research are the next step to a controlled ultrasonic separation of red cells in human blood [7][8][9]. Summing up the considerations it can be stated that: a) The radiation drift force directs cells to nodes or loops of the ultrasonic wave.…”

“…In theoretical papers on the application of ultrasonic waves in medicine, approximate solutions are sometimes adopted instead of precise ones in order to present physical processes and show applicatory aspects of the topic. Assuming a general dependence of resistance forces on velocity and dependence of drift forces on the position, the following motion equation is obtained (Włoch et al, 2015):…”
