Abstract:Ultra‐fast high temperature sintering (UHS) is a joule heating method with an extremely high heating rate (∼103–104°C/min). In this work, commercial ZrB2 powders were rapidly densified by UHS to >90% relative density within 60 seconds in vacuum without pressure. Bulk density improved from 75 to 93% of relative density by increasing the sintering duration from 10 to 60 seconds. The final grain size increases from 2.7 ± 1.1 μm to 19.0 ± 8.4 μm when the sintering time increased from 10 to 60 seconds. X‐ray dif… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
