Ultradisperse slag suspensions aggregative and sedimentative stability

Abstract: Abstract. Ultradisperse slag suspensions in aqueous and water-polymer phases have been studied. Disperse systems main stability factors applied to the ultradisperse slag have been considered. Chemical equations for the processes running in the aqueous and water-polymer disperse phases with slag particles have been provided. Graphical dependencies confirming the increase of the aggregative stability and sedimentative stability of the ultradisperse slag suspensions have been illustrated, and the processes causin… Show more

“…The involvement of waste provides a reduction in the cost of producing efficient and modern mortars and concretes [4,5,6]. But the disposal of ash [2,4,6] and slag waste [3,7,8] is also interesting from the point of view of solving environmental problems [1,7]. Since recycling provides the release of huge areas.…”

“…The level of useful use of coal ash and slag in it can be more than 1 million tons per year. Thus, the cement industry [8,9], the production of mortars and concretes [11], the production of lightweight aggregates (aggloporite and alumina expanded clay), the production of building ceramics and silicate bricks have great potential for their use. With the integrated use of TPP ash as a secondary raw material, the profitability of production increases.…”

“…The authors of works [18][19] considered the preparation of cements and cement compositions with finely ground steel-smelting slags that, during combined hydration with cement, form hydration products in the form of submicrocrystalline hydrate phases that compact the structure of the cement stone and further bind the individual grains of the composition, which leads to the hardening of its structure.…”

“…An increase in the strength of cements with the addition of finely ground slag (FGS) in the initial periods of hardening by an average of 50% was observed, but the standard deviation of the strength characteristics was 6-7%, indicating uneven distribution of the slag component in the cement system. To ensure uniform distribution of slag particles in the volume of the cement matrix, it is proposed to introduce FGS as a suspension into the cement instead of mixing water [16][17][18]. The papers [19][20][21][22][23][24][25] carried out studies on the establishment of aggregative and sedimentation stability of dispersions of various substances of the nanoscale series: carbon nanotubes, europium oxohydroxide hydrosol, γ-Al2O3 sol, etc.…”
