Ultra Wideband Microstrip Diamond Slotted Patch Antenna with Enhanced Bandwidth

Abstract: An Ultra Wideband (UWB) microstrip diamond slotted patch antenna with enhanced bandwidth is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is simulated in CST Microwave Studio and fabricated for measurements. Its simulated result displays impedance bandwidth from 3.28 GHz to 19.64 GHz, whereas the measured result displays the frequency region from 2.01 GHz to 18.67 GHz. The antenna complies with the return loss of S11 < –10 dB and Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) < 2 throughout the impedance bandwidth. … Show more

“…The proposed UWB antenna with existing antenna literature survey performance report is shown in Table 4 from the above reference [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] were also studied and material characteristics, gain and bandwidth are discussed. To ensure that all the antennas covered UWB characteristics with different applications.…”

“…Another work [6] discusses about 2.54 GHz to 21.08 GHz printed type circular ring antenna with dimensions of 39×40mm which is moderate size and less return loss. The enhanced bandwidth of UWB antenna as discussed by Chia Ping Lee [7] report that the 15x14.5mm size antenna operated from 3.28 GHz to 19.64 GHz with fractional bandwidth of 120.68 %. A widerbandwidth antenna from 3.9 GHz to 22.5 GHz is introduced in [8].…”

“…These slot antenna design structures have improved dual-band responses for wireless communications [10][11][12][13][14]. Among these techniques, we will use the insertion of the slots at the radiating element [15]. The use of a partial ground plane promotes the enlargement of the bandwidth [16].…”
