“…To further eliminate the heat conduction losses, 2D cylindric steam generators have been developed by using a polymeric foam or wood with a low heat conductivity as a thermal barrier and self‐floating body (Figure b) . With this scheme, photothermal conversion efficiencies of 2D cylindric steam generators have reached up to 80–95% under one sun …”

“…At the same time, the high light absorption can be obtained, thereby ensuring that salt ions can flow back through the pores to the bulk water at night. [ 75,76 ] In addition to the size of the channels, the richness of the channels is also an essential actor. In thermodynamics, the migration of salt crystals to a large amount of seawater is caused by the potential chemical difference of salt concentrations.…”

“…(2019) documented the manufacturing of polystyrene‐based reformed carbon fibers, which showed thermal conversion efficiency of 92.5% (1 kW m −2 ) with very minute heat conduction loss of 3%. [ 164 ] The 1D water channel influenced by transpiration may cause a reduction in heat conduction loss and improvise the water channel matrix also. In 2017, Zhu et al.…”
